England thrashed Jamaica 6-0...

Everybody is over the moon, talking about the Crouchatron & his robo-dance goal celebrations...
Sven is saying the Crouchatron will start against Paraguay & England can beat anybody...
Becks will cry when England wins the World Cup...

I dunno man...
I still not convinced....

1) Ranked 46th against England's 10th (FIFA World Rankings May '06), Jamaica is hardly a challenge... More of a morale boosting exercise...

2) England played a diamond 4-4-2 formation, with Gerrard occupying the defensive mid role & Lampard the in-rushing offensive mid. Joe Cole took the left with his mazy dribbles & Becks supplied near-perfect crosses into Jamaica's pen box...

No issues with the flanks but Gerrard sitting back??!!? Hmmph... I dunno man... Gerrard is unstoppable when he bombs forward. Lampard is good too but no way near StevieG.

3) Carragher overlapping??!!? Haha...
To be fair, he did ok, just that his overlaps were all decoys. His team-mates chose not to pass the ball to him whenever he overlapped into space... it's so obvious they dun rate his attacking ability... haha...

Maybe England should play 3-1-4-2...

Here's how I think they should form up:



Neville, Rio & Terry forms the back 3. Neville's natural position is right-back but he played centre-back for ManUtd before & he's very dependable.

Carragher plays the def mid role, protecting the back 3 & relaying short passes to Gerrard & Lampard. Very defensive minded, he breaks up opposition's plays, winning the ball back.

Gerrard & Lampard playing offensive mid will bomb forward, ala Brazil's Kaka & Ronaldinho...

Ashley Cole will play on the left, tracking back occasionally to help out with the defence. Becks plays on the right, spraying crosses onto Crouchatron & Owen.

Joe Cole will be on the sidelines waiting to replace Lampard.

When fit, Rooney to replace Crouchatron or Owen... based on current form, I would take out Owen.
